Veda M. Rives Aukerman and Meda R. Rives Smith are artists and identical twin sisters who established Mirror Image Press as their studio to pursue interests in printmaking, handmade paper, artists’ books, and BookEnvirons; creating artworks both independently and collaboratively which have been exhibited nationally and internationally.

Veda is currently Interim Director of Normal Editions Workshop (N.E.W.) in the Wonsook Kim School of Art at Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. Veda has been associated with N.E.W. since 1990 in various capacities including graduate student, graduate assistant, assistant director, associate director, and interim director. Meda has been a member of the art faculty at Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois and at Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois.
